1. Research Fellow / Research Associate
The NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) is seeking young scholars for the position of Research Fellow or Research Associate to commence work  in the Summer of 2010.
CIL is at the beginning stages of developing a major research project on ASEAN Integration. (For information on the project, click here.)Â Fellows/Associates will be expected to spend at least half of their time on research relating to ASEAN Law and Policy and/or the ASEAN Integration Project.
The remainder of their time can be in specific areas of interest in one or more of the following focus areas of the Centre:
- Ocean Law and Policy;
- Trade and Investment Law and Policy;
- Aviation Law and Policy; and
- Intellectual Property Law and Policy (as it relates to Trade Law & Policy).
The appointment will initially be for 1 year with an option to renew for another year following review.
Essential qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent (for Research Fellow) and LLM or equivalent (for Research Associate) with a background and competency in the above focus areas.
- Publications in reputed journals and presentations at international conferences would be an advantage.
- Experience in research or research collaboration within/outside currently employed institution would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, methodological and conceptual skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
2. Visiting Positions
CIL is accepting applications for Visiting positions. Priority will be given to academics in law schools in ASEAN countries with an interest in ASEAN Law and Policy, Ocean Law and Policy, Trade Law and Policy, and the implementation of treaties in national law.
